SUNDAY, MARCH 30
Good morning and welcome to church! From the comfort of your very own home. My laptop isn’t going to have power much longer, so I’ll put together what I can and hope you are all safe, maybe even warm. It’s so beautiful outside, but also sad to see the trees sagging under the weight of the ice.
Marietta and Judy doing a beautiful rendition of God of Love.
GATHERING PRAYER:
God, thank you for Spring and the hope of warmer, longer, brighter days.
Thank you for the season of growth and life and birth.
Thank you that things are coming awake in the world.
This is what our calendar says, and we do see some signs that it is real.
But we also still struggle with the residual layover of winter.
Now we ask that you bring into reality all that belongs in this season.Your word says that we will have provision, and hope, and joy, and health and loving relationships here and now in this life.
We ask that what belongs in this season would become actual in our practical lives.
We hope in you and in your promises. We hope in your gift of Spring. AMEN.
We didn’t have the foresight to have the band record music this week. Not sure we could have known that we’d be covered in ice today. So here is a happy flashback to our friends, Dylan and Katie singing a beautiful song.
We pray mightily for wisdom, intelligence and justice to prevail in our world.
We pray for everyone who has lost a job and everyone who is worried about their security.
We pray for all of those dealing with a diagnosis of any kind, and for their caregivers.
We pray for those who have died recently and all those who grieve the death of someone dear.
We pray with gratitude for all that is going well in our lives.
We pray for our young people and the transitions they are making: moving, new careers, adventures.
We pray for those expecting babies, may all be healthy.
We pray for our community as it prepares to make a transition to a new spiritual leader.
May all be well and safe today.
Prayerful Intentions
O Great Love, thank you for living and loving in us and through us. May all that we do flow from our deep connection with you and all beings. Help us become a community that vulnerably shares each other’s burdens. Knowing you are hearing us better than we are speaking, we offer these prayers in all the holy names of God, amen.
Benediction
God of Love, guide us each day as we seek to become the best version of ourselves. Having received sustenance from this hour together, we go now intending to live our lives in service to our own spiritual growth and this world. Give us strength and courage for the journey. Amen.
Thank you for your generosity. You can also donate using Venmo @peruchurchVT. Even though we’re not there today, the church still needs our support.
Have a wonderful week, wherever you are!
